The prize is a 2-night trip to Lisbon towards flights and accommodation at the 4* Hotel Lisboa Plaza or similar (subject to availability) courtesy of Brightsun Travel.
The winner shall be solely responsible for their own local commutation and presenting their vaccination certificate/covid-19 test results if necessary.
This competition is open to members of the UK public aged 18 years and above only. The employees of Brightsun Travel and employees of participating partners are not eligible to take part in the competition.
The agents/distributors and employees of the marketing or media agencies contracted by Brightsun Travel and anyone connected with this competition are not eligible to participate.
The promoters are Brightsun Travel with offices at 14 Hanworth Road, Hounslow, Middlesex, TW3 1UA, United Kingdom . All decisions made by the promoters in all matters regarding this competition are final.
The competition starts on 6th February and ends midnight on 17th February. Entries received after the closing date of the competition will not be considered.
The entry mechanism is by subscribing to our newsletter, via an online website form requiring personal details such as name, email address, telephone number, and postcode; telephone numbers are only taken to contact the winners for a time-sensitive prize such as flight bookings and will not be used in any marketing or shared with any third parties.
Winners are selected randomly by a draw.
By entering the competition, all entrants are deemed to have understood, accepted and been bound by these Terms and Conditions (terms). Please retain these terms for your future reference.
Competition Rules:
Winner selection: The winning entrant (“winner”) will be chosen at random. The promoter’s decision in all matters regarding the awarding of the prize is final and binding.
The winner will be contacted within one month of the competition closing by email (or by phone if it is a time-sensitive prize such as a flight with a ‘book by’ date). If you do not respond to the email (you must also check your junk folder) or respond to a phone call within 2 days, you automatically forfeit the prize, and another winner will be randomly picked.
The promoter reserves the right to amend, cancel, modify, or offer an alternative prize of equal value at any time if it is not possible to award the advertised prize.
The winner(s) must arrange and pay for their own travel insurance; if a flight is cancelled and additional accommodation has been paid for by the winner, travel insurance can pay any costs. Brightsun Travel will not pay for any costs related to cancelled or missed flights.
No purchase is necessary to participate in this competition, but an internet connection is required.
Prizes are not transferrable and non-cash prizes shall not be redeemable for cash. No substitutions or exchanges (including for cash) of the prize will be permitted, except that the promoters reserve the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value for any prize if the intended prize becomes unavailable for any reason beyond their control. If the prize becomes unavailable due to a pandemic or lockdown restrictions, it will be withdrawn if no alternative can be offered.
At any time during the competition, the promoters reserve the right in their sole discretion to disqualify and remove any entrant for any failure to observe the terms including but not limited to cases where the promoters believe the entrant to be engaged in any kind of illegal or inappropriate behaviour. If a winner is disqualified, the prize will be forfeited and may be awarded to an alternative winner selected by the promoters.
By entering the competition, you release to the fullest extent permissible by applicable law, the promoters, any prize suppliers, and any of their respective parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, directors, officers, employees, and agencies (collectively, the “Released Parties”) from any liability whatsoever, and waive any and all causes of action related to any claims, costs, injuries, losses, or damages of any kind, whether consequential or otherwise, arising out of or in connection with the competition or delivery, mis-delivery, acceptance, possession, use of, or inability to use the Prize (including, without limitation on claims, costs, injuries, losses and damages related to personal injuries, death, damage to or destruction of property, rights of publicity or privacy, defamation or portrayal in a false light, whether intentional or unintentional), whether under contract, tort (including negligence), warranty or other alleged cause of action. Nothing shall exclude the promoters’ liability for death or personal injury because of their negligence.
By entering this competition, you agree to take part in any publicity if required.
The promoters may, at any time, at their sole discretion and without prior notice, amend or modify these terms and may also suspend, interrupt, terminate, or discontinue this competition at any time without reason and notice or liability to anyone. This applies in particular in the event of any circumstances that disrupt the competition or prevent it from proceeding as planned.
You acknowledge that the promoters, its prize sponsors, directors, officers, employees, agents, and contractors shall not be liable to the maximum extent permitted by law; and for medical expenses incurred no matter under which circumstances; and for any damage, loss, liabilities, injury, costs, expenses, or claims suffered by entrants as a result of entering into this competition or accepting and utilizing the respective prize; and for any injury or damage to you or any other person relating to or resulting from participation in connection with this competition; for any failure to comply with its obligations where the failure is caused by something outside its reasonable control or any other circumstances amounting to force majeure.
You further acknowledge that the promoters shall not be liable jointly.

By accepting these terms, you agree and consent to the promoters publishing your name and asking for a photo to publish on the Brightsun social media pages. This information may also be used (including, but not limited to the internet) for advertising or publicity purposes (where legal), and the use of statements made by or attributed to the winner of this competition, and all rights to said use, without further compensation.
The winners will be publicly announced on our social media channels and/or displayed in marketing communications and on the Brightsun website. If the winner has a social media account, Brightsun will request they tag Brightsun Travel on a social post on their own account after travel is complete to confirm they won the prize.
All data, including personal data submitted by you, is supplied voluntarily. Personal data is collected by Brightsun Travel, 14 Hanworth Rd, Hounslow, Middlesex, TW3 1UA, United Kingdom (“Brightsun”). We will send one initial email out to all entrants to notify them who the winner is.
This competition and any disputes relating to it will be governed by the laws of England and be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts of England.
This competition is for UK entrants only and voids in all countries where it is illegal by law. Residents from such countries must not submit entries and any such entries that are submitted will not be accepted. Entrants from jurisdictions where the promotion is not permitted will not be entitled to claim any prize.
Participants must confirm and issue their travel by 31st March 2025 to avail the prize. Failure to make a booking within this specified timeframe will result in forfeiture of the prize.
Expanding on the Booking Deadline: It is imperative that all travel arrangements, including accommodation and transportation, are confirmed by 31st March 2025. Any attempts to make bookings beyond this date will not be valid under the terms of this prize. Participants are encouraged to plan their trips well in advance to ensure the availability of preferred dates and accommodations
Travel Period - The travel period must be scheduled and completed before 30th June 2025, with the exclusion of bank and peak holidays. This ensures flexibility for the winner to choose a suitable time for their trip while avoiding potential peak travel periods.
Competition Prize:
The prize is a 2-night trip to Lisbon courtesy of Brightsun Travel.
Flights are always subject to availability. Travel dates must be booked by Monday, 31st March 2025 . So, there is a short period after the competition closes to send passport information and book. Prizes will be deemed invalid and withdrawn if valid passports are not provided and if travel is not booked by the book by date Monday, 31st March 2025 .Passports must be valid or the prize will be forfeited.
Fulfilment of travel is subject to the availability of seats at the time of booking. Travel during peak periods and bank holidays in the UK and Portugal will not be available. Peak periods include Easter, and other major public holidays. UK bank holidays and Portugal bank holidays.
The winner's eligibility is verified based on the provided name and email when contacted through our official social media channels. Any attempt to transfer or reassign the prize to another individual is strictly prohibited. If the name entered is different from the winner’s name on their passport, name change documents will be required to prove that the winner is the same person travelling (e.g. if married and have changed name). If any discrepancy in names is found without sufficient proof of name change, the prize will be withdrawn.
If the winner shares a social media account with anyone, the name of the entrant on the website entry is the only person eligible to win the prize, not anyone else that has access to their social media account.
Flights will not be upgraded to the next class unless the winner pays for an upgrade (subject to availability) and the destination cannot be changed unless the promoter deems it necessary. Both passengers must travel together on the same booking. These tickets are non-transferable, non-refundable and non re-routable.
The winner shall be solely responsible for: ensuring that all proper travel documents, including valid passport and visas, have been obtained in advance of travel at their own cost; plus arranging any required PCR tests, and presenting their vaccination certificate/covid-19 test results if necessary; and being aware of travel restrictions to/from their chosen destination; and obtaining travel insurance; and ensuring that the winner and any companions are fit enough to travel, and indemnifying and holding harmless the promoters from and against any and all damages, losses, costs, injuries, and claims arising out of or in connection with the participation by the winner in this competition and acceptance and use of the prize. If the passengers must cancel their flights due to illness or any other reason, the prize will be surrendered.
Participants are responsible for any extra expenses exceeding the £500 prize value, including costs associated with additional nights, extended flight days, tours, and transfers. If participants wish to book such extras, they should liaise directly with Brightsun Travel for booking and are accountable for covering any supplementary costs incurred. Please note that any expenses beyond the £500 prize limit are the sole responsibility of the winner.
If there is a lockdown and travel is restricted, this prize will have to be surrendered and cannot be extended beyond the date of 30th June 2025. If there is a lockdown in the destination of travel, and the return flights are cancelled, or any accommodation stay is cancelled the prize-winner will accept responsibility for arranging any further accommodation and flights at their own expense.
