But the real reason to visit here is to wander through the bustling streets of a market that still evokes the atmosphere of an ancient souq.

Alcohol is legal in Bahrain and is served in hotels, bars, and licensed restaurants, however, drunken behaviour in public is not tolerated and is against the law. Islamic values are greatly respected in Bahrain. Showing any disrespect towards religious beliefs or practices is considered deeply offensive and could likely result in a heavy fine and/or imprisonment.
