Virgin Atlantic Unveils Its First-ever A330neo With New Retreat Suite

Here’s everything you need to know about Virgin Atlantic’s new A330neo!

Virgin Atlantic recently unveiled its first-ever Airbus A330-900neo aircraft with updated cabins including a brand-new Retreat Suite. Joining the existing fleet of A350s, 787-9s and A330-300s, the A330neo will be Virgin’s newest aircraft type which will eventually replace the older A330-300s.  

To modernise its fleet and to further its commitment in reducing its carbon footprint, the airline announced an order for up to sixteen A330neo in 2019 becoming the first UK airline to purchase the plane. Three A330neo aircraft will be arriving by the end of this year with the first flight taking off from London Heathrow to Boston on October 12. The jet will also start flying to Tampa, Miami, and New York-JFK by the end of the year.

The airline has made considerable improvements on A330neo aircraft to enhance passenger experience. The aircraft will have 30 latest Upper Class seats with more space and comfort. It also features the luxurious Retreat Suite, a brand-new concept from Virgin Atlantic, situated at the front of the Upper Class cabin. It is touted as the most spacious suite ever, boasting a 6'7" fully flat bed, a 27″ touch screen with Bluetooth connectivity and wireless charging.

Inside the Upper Class Cabin

Just like the Upper Class suite on A350s, this cabin looks exceptional and has a refined style with soft gold, brown and Virgin’s traditional purple and red. The airline has installed more storage with centre bins so there’s space for everything. Travellers will also love the fully closing privacy door, 17.3” touchscreen, wireless charging and personal mood lighting.

Introducing the Retreat Suite

Comprising two enlarged Upper Class suites in the centre, Virgin is calling it their “most spacious suite yet” and it surely looks impressive. By introducing the Retreat Suite, Virgin Atlantic is the latest in line to provide a varied business plus experience.  

Located at the front of the cabin, this luxurious suite comes with extra space, lots of storage, a bigger screen and of course complete privacy with closing screens on both sides.  

The suite can alternatively be converted into private social space for up to four people. Interestingly, it is only available in the centre pair so you won’t be able to have a window seat if you want additional space.  

There is plenty of space for work with enough charging ports so it’s perfect for a meeting, a brainstorming session, or even to have some lunch together with your colleagues, friends or family.

All About the Loft – An Exclusive Upper Class Space

Virgin Atlantic continues to impress with its award-winning social space, the Loft. Boasting four comfortable seats, fold-out tables and plenty of charging ports, you could get together for a mid-flight meeting or take a break to grab a drink from the self-serve fridge and drink dispenser. There are also two 27″ touchscreens with Bluetooth headphones you could take advantage of.
